I’m not sure if the #access bar’s bg is working.
Feeling good after uploading the updated theme. I’d like to get it published by this Friday….maybe.
HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Updated Open Publisher’s CSS and theme. Will post more info ASAP.
I am glad to see this year out the door! I have no idea what this next year will hold for me or my family, however, I’m sure federal government will be there. I’m really not worried about anything else other than having to give the feds protection money against myself. I was always told that the IRS is the biggest and baddest gang in the world and now? I’d have to say the biggest gang is the executive, legislative, and judicial branches consolidating into a whole “the government has more rights that you” mentality.
This next year, I’d like to see the college electoral abolished and see the people respond respectively to the presidential candidate that works best for them. I’d also like for the feds to recognize the corporation as small governments within our government and that they are not people…respectively. Enough of politics.
This next year, I’d also like to see the internal combustion engine obsolete. How? Simple. Replace the juice with magnets. Then, it’s all self powered. Batteries would still be involved but capitalism wants the car to be hooked up to something so they can measure usage and so this topic is now obsolete.
There are a million things I would like to see this next year take place but I think I covered the few most important for me as an US citizen. After that, we can get back to innovation and we can cultivate an attitude of brotherhood among the people.
I suppose this is enough for me today, I have a party to get to after all and I need to get ready but all in all, I wish for that same thing that has been told year after year. Happy New Year and good-will toward all man!
I’ve been noticing that some of us old bloggers’ time has been consumed by work and (of all things) other social networks. Interesting to see bloggers invest their time on building real-estate to which they have no benefit or any form of ownership but yet, there they go. As for myself? Guilty as charged.
To be honest, I don’t see this social craze going on for too long.
Sure, there will always be networks — just think about the old school BBS (or Bulletin Boards) and even now, the old forums haven’t been fazed-out. They are simply methods of communication…and that’s all we want. To be heard and communicate.
Anyway, the reason I bring this up is because of some recent complaint on G+ by a user that uploaded a profile pic of him throwing the middle finger. Long story short, Tom Anderson responded to it and anyone that was noticing left comments regarding said actions. I pinged in and posted a comment that stated, in short, that on any private network, there’s a difference between “rights” and “privileges”. (Oh, and the dramatic conclusion.)
Getting back to my point about blogging. There’s a big difference between blogging and posting content on a social network. For one, on your blog, you can post ANYTHING! On any social network, your posts’ content is governed by the rule of said network’s law and by the vox populi. Case in point for the vox populi: Kelly Clarkson’s view on Ron Paul and the Twitter backlash.
I don’t say “it” on social networking site because each site has it’s own group of thought and so the things I say on FB don’t translate well into G+ or any tweet for that matter. However, on blogs, it’s different. Everything fits here. From a pointless “Hello world” post to “I need to get something off my chest” full-on post. It’s OK to post what I want to here. It’s my home!
As for our desire to share, to be seen and heard, to feel that we are secretly wanted by others en masse will pass as our society continues to grow with these tools of mass communication at our disposal. Not all people will want to be famous and I’m one of those few.
Yes, I am a musician, however, I’m not a musician to be famous but to I perform for people who want to hear what I play and the same with blogging – I write for a few people that want to read. In summary, 3-rd party censorship is there, it’s going to happen but as for my blog… no, thank-you, I’m better saving the pigeon hole for the pigeons.
I’m selling this guitar for a friend – a beautiful 90′s Fender Tele-Sonic guitar. Based off the serial numbers, my guess is she was built in 1998 but that’s only an estimate. She is beautiful, Made in the USA quality that is comfortable to play with a unique tone. Perfect for country, blues and any style of music that needs a quality tone machine.
Contact me for more information. The price is negotiable but terms are not CASH ONLY (Money order for non-local). Shipping is available for non-local buyers. Shipping cost is added to the final sale price.
(STATUS: The guitar is no longer available, thank-you for your interest.)
I am not a climate skeptic – I just happen to believe global warming has been occurring since the ice age. It’s a natural force, not something we have had any control over. Anyway, scientists are bickering with each other, more over on CNN:
An independent study of global temperature records has reaffirmed previous conclusions by climate scientists that global warming is real.
Either way, I can’t verify any of their findings so fuck them. I have also come to the conclusion that “journalists” report on these “finding” is actually a form of conditioning to confuse the hell out of the reader.
The mob will not wait for reform. Repeal laws that prevent the growth of small-business and manufacturing. Repeal the Health Care law that have put government on the shoulders of people. End the war on terror, the war on drugs, and all other undeclared wars that put strain on our economy.
Bring an end to the robbery of the public treasury.
Sincerely,
Jorge Saldivar
This is the land of opportunity. It’s all up to you.
